Witch-king of AngmarThe Witch-king of Angmar is the most powerful of the Nazgûl. He was the the one who stabbed Frodo (LotR) with a Morgul-knife which almost killed the hobbit. After that failure he and the other ringwraiths were forced to return to Mordor. There the witch-king took control of Sauron´s army and launched an attack against Gondor. At Pelennor he slew the Lord of Rohan Théoden with his mace. For that he was challenged by Théoden´s niece Eowyn which he mistook for a man. He proclaimed that no man was fated to kill him and prepared to attack when Eowyn told him that she was a woman. Eowyn and the hobbit Meriadoc managed to destroy both him and his winged beast. Called dwimmerlaik by Eowyn, which means work of necromancy, spectre.
