Ancient Persian Names

 

There are many old Persian names that are still used in Iran, but the Iranian source for most of these names are from famous people that lived in the former Persia and/or were part of the great Persian Empire (usually the Kings or their relatives). The Persian Empire led by King Cyrus started from the city of Persepolis, which right now is located in the Province of Fars in Iran. Cyrus started with fast yet powerful battles and moved towards the west and soon enough captured lands as far into Africa and also Turkey and parts of Greece.
